Didcot A demolition update

The demolition of Didcot Astarted less than 12 months ago and the site has significantly changedduring this time. Specialist demolition company Coleman & Companyare now a third of the  way through the demolition of the old coal firedpower station.

Didcot B Power Station sparks students’ interest in Engineering

Students from Didcot Girls’School sparked their interest in engineering by taking part in an RWE'enthuse' event. The programme inspires and engages students aged 12-14years old in science, technology, engineering and mathematics through arange of interactive activities which challenges them to use and developtheir skills as if they were a scientist or engineer.

RWE Generation’s Littlebrook Power Station; still keeping the lights on at seventy-five

On  yesterday’s anniversary of the 75th year of operation from the Littlebrook power station site, the station successfully completed tests required by National Grid to demonstrate its operational capability. Unit 2 has successfully undergone its monthly ‘proving run’ under the terms of the contract of the Supplemental Balancing Reserve.

Willington C Gas Pipeline receives approval

Today the Secretary ofState for Energy and Climate Change has granted Development Consent forRWE Generation’s proposed Willington C Gas Pipeline. The pipeline will connect the Willington Power Station site in South Derbyshire to the National Transmission System in Staffordshire.
